¤ The 25th Xaghra Song Festival is being held by the Xaghra council, in collaboration with the Victory Band Club, at the band club, today at 5 p.m.

¤ A Christmas evening is being held by the Vocations Group at the St George parish hall, Victoria, today at 5.30 p.m.

¤ A meeting for members of the social and religious committees of Qala is being held by the Qala council at President Anton Buttigieg Primary School today at 11 a.m. The Gieh il-Qala award ceremony will also be held.

¤ A Christmas Carol is being shown at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30 p.m. Santa Clause Two will be shown on Thursday.

¤ A Christmas concert is being held at Zebbug parish church on Tuesday at 6.30 p.m. The Santa Marija Band, led by Mro Michel Refalo, will be participating. The results of the best Christmas window competition will be announced at the end of the concert.

¤ A children's Christmas Eve procession is being held at Ta' Pinu Sanctuary on Wednesday at 11.30 p.m. Nathan Cassar of Gharb will deliver the boy's sermon, followed by a psalm recital. Midnight Mass will be said by Fr Michael Galea, rector of the sanctuary. The sanctuary will be open for the public to admire a crib by Gozitan artist John Grima.

¤ Bishop Nikol Cauchi, accompanied by the collegiate chapter, will lead concelebrated Christmas Midnight Mass, with the participation of the Chorus Ecclesiae Cathedralis and orchestra, on Wednesday at the Cathedral.

On Christmas Day at 11 a.m. Bishop Cauchi will lead a pontifical concelebrated Mass, with the participation of the Laudate Pueri Choir, at St George's Basilica.

¤ A Nativity play, is being held at Fontana parish church on Wednesday at 11 p.m. Christian Bugeja will then deliver the traditional boy's sermon. This will be followed by midnight Mass with the participation of the Chorus Urbanus.

¤ A New Year's Eve dinner-dance is being organised by the Leone Band Club at Luce d'Oro Restaurant at the Calypso Hotel, Marsalforn. Tickets at Lm13 (Lm8 for children), may be obtained from the Lotto Office in Republic Street, Victoria, or by calling 2156-2974 or 7904-6619.

¤ A live crib, held by the youths of the Jesus of Nazareth Youth Centre, is open to the public, in a farmhouse in Gajdloru Street, Xaghra till Friday, January 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 3 p.m. onwards on Sundays and public holidays. The crib will not be open on December 27, 29 and 31.
