¤ The feast of St Anthony of Padua is being celebrated at Mgarr today. There will be concelebrated Mass at 9 a.m. After vespers at 6.30 p.m. Fr George Bugeja, OFM, will be celebrate Mass with homily by Fr Joseph Magro.

A procession, with the statue of the saint, accompanied by the St Joseph Band, leaves at 8 p.m. Afterwards there will be a sacramental benediction. The Mnarja Band will perform on the church parvis and the Ite ad Joseph band will play marche.

¤ Fr George Bezzina will be celebrating his 12th year as Fontana parish priest tomorrow with a concelebrated Mass, at 7 p.m. followed by a traditional dinner on the church parvis at 8 p.m. Tickets may be obtained from the parish office (tel:2155-6097).

¤ Victoria Day will be celebrated by the local council on Tuesday. The Leone Band will be playing marches at 6 p.m., leaving Savina Square and ending in Narrow Street. This will be followed by a choral concert at 8 p.m. with the poetry reading and the participation of the Laudate Puerin choir and the Chorus Ecclesiae Cathedralis..

¤ Anglican Mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Seminary chapel, Enrico Mizzi Street, Victoria, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. For more information call Tony Prescott on 2155-2483.

¤ A meeting is being held in the Exhibition Hall at Sr Francis Square, Victoria, on Thursday at 7 p.m. for members of Gozitan non-government organisations to approve the statute and elect the first commitee of the NGO Association for Gozo.

¤ A children's feast is being held on the Fontana church parvis on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Victory Band will be playing marches in the parish streets on Friday at 9.30 p.m., while on Saturday at 10 p.m. marches will be played by the La Stella and Ite ad Joseph bands, followed by a fireworks display. Fontana celebrates the feast of Sacred Heart of Jesus on Sunday.

¤ A rock Mass, organised by the Xewkija council in collaboration with the Xewkija Youth Centre, is being held at the Xewkija Rotunda, on Friday at 8 p.m. The Sherinal group will be animating the event with Scream Daisy and Nameless as special guests.

¤ The feast of St Anthony of Padua is being celebrated at St Francis Church, Victoria, on Friday. Mass, led by Bishop Nikol Cauchi, will be celebrated at 5 p.m., followed by the blessing ceremony and distribution of St Anthony's bread to children. Mass, led by Mgr Gregory Grech will be concelebrated at 7 p.m. with the participation of the Laudate Pueri choir, led by Fr George Frendo. The panegyric will be delivered by Fr Albert Micallef, OFM. This will be followed by the blessing of the relic and the distribution of St Anthony's bread to those present.

¤ A Summer Evening is being held on the Gharb Church Square, on Friday at 8.15 p.m. Noel D'Amato will be presenting the evening which includes a play and singers Debbie Scerri, Teddy Zammit and Ylenia Caruana. Tickets can be obtained by phoning the parish centre on 2156-0025.
