¤ The feast of St Lawrence is being celebrated in San Lawrenz today.

Masses will be celebrated at St Anne's Chapel, Dwejra Bay, at 5.30, 7 and 11 a.m. and at 5 p.m. Mass will also be celebrated at San Lawrenz parish church at 6 p.m.

Pontifical Concelebrated Mass, led by Bishop Nikol Cauchi, with a panegyric by Fr Michael Xuereb, will be held at 9 a.m. Solemn vespers will be sung at 7 p.m. followed by a procession, led by Vittoriosa Archpriest Fr Joe Caruana, at 8 p.m. The antiphon and a Eucharistic celebration will follow at 10.30 p.m.

Marches, performed by the Santa Marija Band, will be held at 11 a.m. followed by activities for youths at San Lawrenz parish centre at 1 p.m.

A musical programme by La Stella Band with the participation of the Victory and Precursor Bands, will be held on San Lawrenz main square at 8.15 p.m.

¤ Celebrations marking the feast of the Assumption of Our Lady are being held all week in Victoria.

Today, the Leone and Santa Margerita Bands will perform marches from Capuchins Street to the Leone Band Club at 9 p.m.

Tomorrow, the Leone and Santa Marija Bands will perform marches through the main streets of Victoria.

On Tuesday, the Leone and St Gregory Bands will perform marches through the main streets of Victoria.

On Wednesday, Concelebrated Mass, with the participation of the Chorus Ecclesiae Cathedralis, is being held at the Cathedral at 8 a.m. Mass, led by Archpriest Mgr Joseph Vella Gauci for the children of the parish, will be held at 10 a.m. The parish children, led by the Naxxar Scout Group, will march from the Cathedral Square to the Leone Band Club. A reception for the children will be held later at the Aurora Theatre where they will be given a memento.

There will be marches by the Leone Band starting from the Cathedral parish centre, at 5.30 p.m. followed by a short procession led by Bishop Cauchi at 6 p.m.

Concelebrated Mass, led by the Apostolic Nuncio, Mgr Luigi Conti, with the participation of the Chorus Ecclesiae Cathedralis, will be held at 7.30 p.m.

Marches, performed by the Leone and La Valette Bands, will be held at 8 p.m.

On Thursday, the feast day proper, Masses will be celebrated at the Cathedral at 4.15, 5, 5.45, 6.30, 7, 7.15, 8, 10.30, 11.15 a.m., at noon, 1 and 5 p.m.

Concelebrated Pontifical Mass, led by Bishop Cauchi, will be held at 9 a.m. Marches, with the participation of the May 12 Band of Zebbug and the Precursor Band, will be held in the centre of Victoria at 11 a.m.

Traditional horse and donkey races will be held at 2.30 p.m. Solemn vespers and a Eucharistic celebration will be held at 5.45 p.m. The Victory Band will perform marches from the parish centre to the Cathedral Square at 6 p.m.

A procession, led by Archdeacon and Vicar General Mgr Giovanni B. Gauci, with the participation of the Leone Band, will be held at 6.30 p.m. The Victory Band will perform on Independence Square at 7.30 p.m and the St Joseph Band will perform marches at 8 p.m. followed by a musical programme on the Cathedral Square at 9.30 p.m.

Marches by the Leone Band will be held at 11 p.m.

¤ The annual flag week of the SPCA (Gozo) is being held this week.

¤ An outing to Malta, organised by the Ladies' Society of St George's parish of Victoria, is being held on Tuesday. Transport leaves Victoria bus terminus at 7 a.m. It will include a visit to the seven churches where the feast of Santa Marija is being celebrated. Tickets may be obtained from Antoinette Frendo or from the parish offices. Tel: 2155-6377.

¤ A farming and trades exhibition, organised by the Agricultural, Industrial and Cultural Society in collaboration with the Gozo Ministry, the Farming and Fisheries Ministry and Victoria council, is being held at Villa Rundle public gardens, Victoria, on Wednesday from 4 p.m. An evening of traditional Maltese songs will be held at 7.30 p.m. The following day the exhibition will open at 6.30 p.m.

¤ Riflessi Sajfin, a four-hour open-air festival, organised by OASI Foundation, is being held at il-Menqa, Marsalforn, on Saturday. Special guests at the festival, compered by Peppi Azzopardi, Valerie Vella and Gracelee Spiteri, will include Ira Losco, Karen Polidano, Yada dancers, Rosanna Maya and Stiller. Entrance is free.

¤ A barbecue, which will include tombola, a farce and spot prizes, is being held in the courtyard of the Victory Band Club, Xaghra, on Saturday at 8.30 p.m. Tickets at Lm3 and Lm2 for children.

¤ A coffee morning, to raise funds for missionaries in Guatemala, is being held at Ta' Pinu Cafeteria on August 22 at 9 a.m. Tickets at Lm1.25 may be obtained by calling 2155-6509.

¤ The University of Malta Gozo Centre is organising a series of events to mark its tenth anniversary. An evening of drama will be held on August 23.
