Activities to mark the feast of St John Bosco continue at the Don Bosco Oratory today. Fr Michael Said celebrates Mass for oratory nursery children at 8 a.m. At 10.30, Fr John Vella celebrates Mass, animated by the Straight Ahead group under the direction of Teddy Zammit.
Stormbreaker shows at 5.30 p.m.
A meeting for parents of youths attending the oratory will be held on Tuesday at 5.30 p.m.
On Friday at 5 p.m., Fr George Mercieca will celebrate Mass for the elderly where the Sacrament of the anointing of the sick will be administered.
A children's football tournament on Saturday starts at 1 p.m. The film Cars will be screened at 5. The recitation of the rosary and Sacramental blessing will be held at 6.30. At 7, solemn Mass will be celebrated by Mgr George Tabone.
At 7.45, a prayer meeting for adolescents will be led by Munxar parish priest Fr Tonio Galea. At 8, Mgr Rosario Borg celebrates Mass and initiates the adoration night organised by the Eucharistic Movement, which will end with midnight Mass.
To celebrate the feast of St Anthony the Abbot Mgr Carmelo Refalo today leads a solemn Mass at 8.45 a.m. at St Anthony's church, Xaghra, followed by a procession.
Mgr Refalo blesses horses that will take part in a parade leaving St Joseph Street for Church Street and Victory Square, on St Anthony the Abbot Square at 10 a.m. A cat and dog show will be held on the square at 11. There will be children's games in St Anthony Street at 1 p.m.
At 3.30, Bishop Grech leads a concelebrated Mass in the basilica of Our Lady of Victories, with the participation of the Voci Angeliche choir, accompanied by Ronald Camilleri on the organ, under the direction of Grace Vella.
At 4.30, Bishop Grech leads a procession with the statue, accompanied by the Victory Band.
Animals will be blessed on St Anthony Square at 5 p.m.. The procession ends at the church of St Anthony with the Te Deum and the Sacramental blessing.

The Gozo Council for Education and Vocational Training, in collaboration with the University of Malta's Gozo Centre, is organising a consultation conference of career prospects in Gozo at the Grand Hotel, Ghajnsielem, on Friday between 1.30 and 5 p.m.
The conference will consist of a briefing of a report on career prospects in Gozo drawn up by the council, followed by group discussions on prospects for sixth formers preparing for university, for MCAST students and related vocations, for early school leavers and for those with poor qualifications. The conference is aimed at policy makers and practitioners in education, including those offering private and vocational education.
High tea to raise funds for the feast of Our Lady of Victories will be held in the Youth Circle hall in Xaghra on Saturday at 7.30 p.m. Tickets are available from Xaghra parish helpers.
To commemorate the crowning of the painting of Our Lady of Graces in the Capuchin church, Victoria, lunch will be held at Villa Fiorita, Marsalforn, on Sunday at noon.
