• San Lawrenz parish today celebrates its patron's feast with a pontifical Mass led by Bishop Mario Grech at 9 a.m. Fr Martin Mamo OFM Cap. will deliver the panegyric.
At 11, the Mnarja band of Nadur will play marches. Sung solemn vespers will be held at 7 p.m., with the participation of the Levita Laurentis choir. At 8, a procession with the statue of St Lawrence, accompanied by the Victory band, will take place. The La Stella Band gives a concert on the main square at 8.15. The Precursor Band plays marches at 10.30 p.m.
• The Leone Band will play marches from the Cathedral parish centre to the Cathedral at 9 a.m. At 10, the statue of Our Lady will be removed from the niche while Marian hymns are sung. Well-known Gozitan poet Rev. George Mercieca of Victoria will read his poem Naf Min Kien, and a fireworks display will follow from Gelmus Hill.
• The Gozitan Missionary Support Group is holding a fund-raising tea tombola at Crystal Palace, Marsalforn, on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Tickets may be obtained from Georgette Bezzina on 2155-8668 or Manani Farrugia on 2155-3816.
• SK Victoria Wanderers are organising an evening of song and dance on Cathedral Square, Victoria, on Tuesday at 8.15 p.m. Phylisienne Brincat, Eleanor Cassar and Paul Curmi's Latino e Ole Show will participate.

• Qala parish is organising the festa edition of its new ecumenical event for foreign nationals residing in or visiting Gozo - the Gozo International Celebration - on Wednesday at 9 p.m. The programme starts with an address by the host Qala parish priest, Canon Dr Joseph Zammit, and continues with a concert by the Ite ad Joseph band from Qala, and a number of performances by the Qala Menhir Group, accompanied by soloist Ruth Portelli. A reception will be held on Qala parish square where traditional Maltese food will be served and arts and crafts may be purchased from stands. There will also be fireworks. • A country music evening, organised by Victoria council and the bar owners of It-Tokk, is being held on Independence Square, Victoria, on Friday at 7.30 p.m. The event will feature Marisa d'Amato, Araldo Scerri and Ryan Farrugia. Entrance is free.
• A second performance of the musical 1956, composed by Mro Paul Abela, with lyrics by John Cremona, will be held on Cathedral Square, Victoria, on Friday at 8.30 p.m. This production commemorates the presentation of the statue of St Mary by the Leone Band Club to the Cathedral. The musical is being held under the patronage of the Speaker of the House, Anton Tabone.
