¤ A car boot sale, in aid of the Xaghra Catholic Action (female section), is being held near Ta' Kola Windmill, Xaghra, today from 8.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

¤ The Pope John Paul II Monument Committee marks the 27th anniversary of the beginning of his papacy today. Bishop Cauchi leads a Pontifical concelebrated Mass at Ta' Pinu Sanctuary at 10 a.m. A fund-raising coffee morning will be held at Crystal Palace, Marsalforn, on Thursday at 9 a.m. For tickets call 2155-6612.

¤ The Gozitan Missionary Support Group is holding a fund-raising tea tombola at Crystal Palace, Marsalforn, today at 4.30 p.m. Tickets are obtainable from Georgette Bezzina (tel. 2155-5709) or Vicky Said (2155-3282).

¤ Finding Neverland is showing at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30 p.m.

¤ The Social Action Movement, in collaboration with the parish council, is organising a three-week activity in Nadur parish from today till November 6 with the theme 'For a more equitable society'. There will be talks by well known speakers aimed at children, adolescents, couples and the elderly. A detailed programme will be distributed to every household in Nadur.

¤ The Diocesan Youth Commission, in collaboration with GUG (Grupp Universitarji Ghawdxin) and the University Chaplaincy, is holding its first event at the University Chapel on Tuesday at 7.15 p.m.

¤ The Gozo NGOs Association is calling on organisations to express their interest in participating in the Gozo Day, which will bring the Commonwealth People's Forum to a close at the Victoria Sports Complex on November 25. A seminar on small islands and two cultural events also forms part of the afternoon's programme. Applications by Friday.

¤ A fund-raising high tea and tombola is being held at St Anthony's Community Centre, St Anthony Street, Ghajnsielem, on Saturday at 7 p.m. There are prizes to be won. Tickets are obtainable from the centre all week or call Fr Pierre on tel. 2156-3413.

¤ A dinner to raise funds for the feast of the Assumption is being held at Moby Dick Bar and Restaurant on October 28 at 7.30 p.m. Transport will be provided from the Leone Band Club and Savina Square, Victoria. There will also be tombola. Tickets at Lm4 are obtainable from Thomas Schembri, Coney Island Bar, and the Cathedral parish office.
