¤ The feast of Christ the Saviour is being celebrated in Ghasri today.

Parish priest Canon Dr Edward Xuereb will lead a concelebrated Mass, with the participation of the Lauda Sion choir, at 8.30 a.m. Archpriest Canon Noel Saliba will deliver the panegyric.

The Vicar-General, Mgr Giovanni Bosco Gauci, will lead a concelebrated Mass with the participation of the Stella Maris orchestra at 6 p.m.

The procession with the statue of the Saviour will then leave the church, accompanied by La Stella Band, at 8.30. An evening of music will be held on the church square at 10.15 p.m.

¤ A pilgrimage to Malta, led by Fontana parish priest Canon George Bezzina, is being organised for the feast of Jesus the Redeemer, which is being celebrated in Senglea, tomorrow.

The group will board the ferry at 3.45 p.m. and will return at 10.30 p.m. Those wishing to attend are to contact Fontana parish church on 2155-6097 or 5156-0223.

¤ A coffee morning is being organised on Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Crystal Palace, Marsalforn. The proceeds will go to towards a Pope John Paul II in Victoria. For tickets phone 2155-1940.

¤ The Gaulitanus Choir is holding a concert entitled "An Evening at the Opera - 3" to mark its 15th anniversary on Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the courtyard of Palazzo Palina, Ta' Cenc.

¤ Fr Emanuel Cordina, director of OASI Foundation, will lead a concelebrated Mass to mark the 25th anniversary of his ordination on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Fontana parish church.

¤ The oratorio Qalb ta' Gesù, written by Bishop Nikol Cauchi and composed by Mro John Galea, is being performed for the first time on Friday at 8.30 p.m. at Fontana parish church.

The Chorus Urbanus and the National Orchestra, directed by John Galea, accompanied by various soloists, will take part.

¤ Victoria council is holding a number of activities to mark Victoria Day this week.

On Thursday at 10 a.m., pupils of Sir Arturo Mercieca Primary School will visit the local council building, where Peter Calleja will be delivering a talk on plants and trees at 7 p.m.

On Saturday at 6 p.m., the Leone Band will play marches in the street, after which they will be performing, with the participation of the Chorus Ecclesiae Cathedralis and Laudate Pueri choir, the Victoria Clarinet Quartet and the Yada Dance Group on Independence Square at 7.45.

The Gieh il-Belt Victoria award ceremony will also take place.

¤ A pizza and tombola night is being held in the parking area behind St Anthony's Centre in Mgarr on Friday at 8.30 p.m. Tickets may be obtained from the convent.

¤ Gharb parish centre is organising a summer's evening on June 17 from 8.15 p.m. onwards on the church parvis. The programme includes magic tricks singing, dancing, drama, lottery, games and various spot prizes. Tickets may be obtained from the parish centre.

¤ The Cathedral parish is holding a summer club for kindergarten to year six pupils and for those who have finished their Junior Lyceum exams. Parents wishing to send their children to the club can contact the parish office on 2155-6087 or 2155-4101.
