On behalf of W. J. Parnis England Limited, I refer to the item headed "Competition Office probes shipping lines complaint" and, specifically, to the statement made by Marlene Mizzi, chairman of Sea Malta that "a claim for an interim judgment to the Commission of Fair Trading was shot down as frivolous (inutli)".
To our knowledge and from official documents in our possession the claim for interim measures was refused due to a procedural technicality. This can and should be confirmed by the Director of Fair Trading himself.
To allege that the claim for the issue of an interim measure was considered as frivolous is incorrect and is a wrong interpretation of the Commission's decree.
