Three boys have been given a 50-hour community service order and another was put on probation for one year after they admitted to stealing two propellers worth over €230 from Xlendi in June, 2008.

One of the boys, aged between 16 and 19, was also charged with driving a car without a licence and insurance.

Magistrate Edwina Grima said it did not seem that the accused were cut out for delinquency and it was likely this had been an adventure.

The boys took a propeller from a boat when theirs was broken and then stole another when they realised the one they had taken was too large for their boat.
