The Public Transport Authority has received 44 complaints against bus drivers since January and court action is being taken about them, Transport Minister Censu Galea told Labour MP Carmelo Abela in reply to a parliamentary question yesterday.

He said the complaints were over bad behaviour, smoking, late departure, not stopping on bus stops, non performance of trips, deviations from the established routes, overcharging and careless driving.

The minister said the authority received another 10 complaints about which the drivers were given a warning as the passengers did not want to give evidence in court.
