The constitution for Europe retains the current arrangement for the composition of the Court of Auditors. The court consists of one national of each member state. Its members are to be completely independent in the performance of their duties, in the European Union's general interest. Malta's nominee in the Court of Auditors is Professor Josef Bonnici.
