Commenting on the beginning of human life, Fr Maurice Eminyan says he can't fathom the distinction people imply when they say life begins at conception but a new person begins to exist only two or three weeks later (June 21).
I don't know why Fr Eminyan would even ponder such polemics. Believers know only too well it is Satan who stirs up such dialectics that fly contrary to the Word of God. I know I became a person when my mother conceived me. It is the beginning of a person bearing the curse of a sinful nature and, as such, desperately needing the Saviour. How do I know? The Bible tells me so: "Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me" (Psalm 51:5).
