The Malta University History Society has expressed its support for the Floriana council over the council's complaint that damage was being done to the Granaries during mass meetings.

The society, an association of history students and graduates from the University of Malta, said it was concerned about the lack of sensitivity and irresponsibility shown by the country's leaders towards the historical heritage.

"The society hopes that both political parties will come up with an acceptable solution so that the Granaries, a landmark of Maltese history, are preserved and no further damage is done," it said.
