The House of Representatives yesterday expressed its condolences to Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi on the death of his father Edward.

Deputy Prime Minister Tonio Borg praised Mr Azzopardi for the courage he had shown during his long illness as well as the way he had raised his family after being widowed.

Opposition leader Alfred Sant expressed the opposition's condolences and solidarity with Dr Azzopardi and his family.

The Speaker associated himself with the expressions of both sides of the House.
