An undisclosed sum of money, cigarettes and mobile phone cards were stolen from a confectionery in High Street, Sliema, during Saturday night.

The owner of the confectionery found out that someone had forced entry into the shop when he went to open as usual yesterday.

Magistrte Lawrence Quintano appointed a team of experts to hold an inquiry.

The Sliema district police are investigating.
