Career Development And Management In A Changing Society was the theme of a conference organised by Euroguidance Malta and which forms part of the EU Leonardo da Vinci programme.
The conference was attended by guidance teachers and counsellors as well as the stakeholders in the area of career guidance. Held at the Corinthia Palace Hotel, Attard, it was chaired by Brian Borg, Euroguidance Malta projects officer.
The conference focused on the challenges facing individuals, work organisations and support services in challenging labour markets within the context of the Malta National Action Plan For Employment and the key role of lifelong guidance services.
The conference also served to launch of the National Lifelong Guidance Forum, which is about the development and improvement of career guidance services.
The core group of the forum, which has already had a number of initial meetings, consists of members from Euroguidance Malta, the General Workers' Union, the Union Haddiema Maghqudin, the Employment and Training Corporation, the Guidance and Counselling Unit and the Policy Unit at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Employment.
The forum is open to all organisations that are potential stakeholders in the area of career guidance.
