Dr Suzanne Gatt was a keynote speaker in the CASTME conference "Linking Science, Mathematics and Technology Education and their Social Relevance" held in Cyprus last month.

In her presentation, Dr Gatt reviewed the state of Maltese primary education with respect to science education and put forward ways in which IT available in classrooms can be used to promote the social aspect of science.

Dr Gatt also recently edited the proceedings of the CASTME conference held in Malta in 2002. Schools wishing to have a copy are to send an e-mail to suzanne.gatt@ um.edu.mt.
