The chairman of the board of trustees of the Courtauld Institute of Art of the University of London, Nick Ferguson, led a delegation to Malta for talks with the Valletta Rehabilitation Project within the Ministry for Resources and Infrastructure.

The group, which included Deborah Swallow, director of the Courtauld Institute of Art, and the directors of the Wall Painting Department of the same institute David Park and Sharon Cather, inspected the work being done by the institute's Wall Painting Department on the island.

They discussed with Ray Bondin, the executive coordinator of the Valletta Rehabilitation Project, the current projects and future collaboration.

The institute is responsible for the conservation of the Paladini fresco in the Palace, in Valletta; the wall painting at Our Lady of Victory church, in Valletta - in collaboration with Din L-Art Helwa and PricewaterhouseCoopers - and the fresco at the Grand Masters' crypt in St John's Co-Cathedral - in collaboration with the St Johns Co-Cathedral Foundation.
