Consultants' fees

The president of the Medical Association of Malta is either oblivious of the charges being levied by many medical consultants or he is not being honest with readers.

I have just received a renewal notice from my health insurance that due to the bad claims experienced during the outgoing year the premiums are being increased substantially by some 35 per cent. In fact, I was expecting this hefty increase because of the random fees I was being charged each time I visited a consultant. I think some professionals are killing the goose that lays the golden egg.
