The Malta Communications Authority has published a consultation paper proposing new mechanisms designed to facilitate the effective resolution of disputes between electronic communications service providers.
MCA chairman Joseph Tabone said that as markets continue to develop, issues were bound to arise which could cause difficulty, particularly for new entrants to the market. It was therefore crucial that such issues be dealt with efficiently and effectively.
"Disputes between electronic communications service providers can hinder the development of competition or delay the provision of innovative services and reductions in prices. The effective and timely resolution of disputes is therefore a key priority of the MCA", he said.
Interested parties are invited to submit their views by not later than 5 p.m. on March 11.
Copies of the document, Dispute Resolution Procedures In Relation To Disputes Between Undertakings, can be downloaded from the MCA's website. Copies can also be obtained free of charge from the MCA's offices.
