Teatru Malta, in co-production with the Manoel Theatre, will be collaborating with ŻfinMalta to commemorate 25 years since the death of beloved Maltese playwright Francis Ebejer.
Boulevard, written in 1964, dabbles with the absurd in order to challenge tradition (The Cliff Hangers – L-Imwarrbin).
The contemporary adaptation of Boulevard’s absurdity will be explored through the choreography of Paolo Mangiola and the direction of Toni Attard in a dance theatre performance by dancers from ŻfinMalta and guest actors co-creating on the same stage that premiered the original work.
Acted out in Maltese, this performance will also be part of the restructuring of ‘The Premju Francis Ebejer’.
The cast includes Antonella Axisa (Mariza), Aron Fenech (Raoul), Thomas Camilleri (Gregorex), Stephen Mintoff (Blonk), Keith Micallef (Boris), Martina Zammit (Gigi), Nicola Micallef (Mara tal-Ward), Jure Gostincar (waiter) and Abel Hernandez (nurse).
Boulevard will be performed on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8pm at the Manoel Theatre, Valletta. Recommended age is 12+. To book tickets, visit https://booking.teatrumanoel.com.mt .
