A CONTROLLED explosion to dispose of left-over firework material raised alarm yesterday when it was feared that the 12th May fireworks factory at Zebbug had blown up.
The explosion happened at around 11 a.m. near the fireworks factory. The police, fire engines and a rescue team from the Fire Protection Department immediately rushed to the scene but it was quickly confirmed that the explosion was controlled and no one was injured.
