Foreign Minister Joe Borg yesterday signed a friendship and general cooperation agreement between Malta and the mountainous principality of Andorra.

The agreement seeks to promote bilateral discussions, as well as cooperation, in various fields including education, culture, science and information technology.

Other areas of cooperation identified in the agreement include the economic sector, particularly investments, tourism, agricultural and health.

The agreement is valid for five years and will be automatically renewed.

The agreement was signed earlier by the Foreign Minister of Andorra, Juli Minoves Triquell, and was delivered to Malta by the director general in the Andorran Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Roser Sune'.
