Cost of English papers

I recently read in The Times that certain English papers, that is.

The Express and The Daily Mirror, are being printed in Malta.

That's because it is cheaper I thought... Great - having read my "normal" paper (The Daily Mirror) for over 50 years I can now read it on the same day. Wrong! When flown in from the UK the paper cost €1.40. I now find that the same paper printed in Malta will cost me €1.80.

It may be cheaper for the publishers to produce, but evidently not for the readers.

Alas, this is one reader who will not be buying it anymore.
