I have been considering visiting Malta this month but to my dismay Air Malta fares are still very expensive when compared to other airlines and other destinations. I can go to most European destinations from £44 return yet you call Air Malta and you get quoted fares from £200 upwards - one can find flights to New York for that price!

I thought that once Malta is a member of the European Union, Air Malta would have made plans to review their fare system and become a more competitive airline. As things are, when one is looking for quotes Air Malta does not even come in the equation as they would definitely be more expensive.

For the same amount of money one would spend for a one-week package holiday in Malta I could do 14 nights in Spain - not to mention the sting one gets in the exchange rate compared to the Eurozone. So why does Air Malta not help by at least reviewing their airfares?
