Count me a yes

How impertinent of Alfred Sant to include people like me in his "partnership" alliance. I am studying in Australia and therefore I had to forfeit my right to vote in the EU accession referendum.

Had I been in Malta, or had it been easier for me to get there, I would have definitely voted yes because I believe that Malta's future is Europe.

Joining the European Union will mean unparalleled opportunities for us, opportunities that we could never obtain alone in our small island.

The leader of the opposition has no right to take advantage of my temporary absence from Malta and use it to his political advantage. Credible politicians do not act this way.

His reasoning goes against all laws of politics, democracy, human rights and basic common sense.

Like the majority of the Maltese population I am looking forward to May, 2004 when we would officially become European citizens.
