The court was this morning asked to appoint experts to examine the DNA taken from the balaclava used in a hold-up at a Zebbug hairdressing salon early this year.

The salon owner had faced the robber, hit him and pulled off his balaclava, leading to the thief’s arrest.

Police inspector Anthony Portelli also asked the court to appoint experts to examine a toy gun use as during the incident and to identify the tattoo on the accused’s hand.
