The Attorney General has returned the records of extradition proceedings to the Magistrates' Court "for a decision according to law" after the court had referred the case to the Attorney General without a decision on a nullity plea or the extradition question.

Sources confirmed yesterday the file had been returned to the Magistrates' Court because it had not given a decision as it was bound to do by law.

The proceedings against Romeo Bone, 26, are being heard to establish whether he should be extradited to Italy where he is wanted for alleged involvement in the importation of cocaine and cannabis from Holland to Catania last year.
