Crafts and art at Palazzo De La Salle

Students attending courses at the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce will be exhibiting their works during the annual exhibition which will be held between Wednesday and January 30 at the society's premises, Palazzo De La Salle, Republic Street, Valletta.

The exhibits include detailed work in ganutell, monastery, filigree, embroidery and embroidery in gold. The latter includes the emblem of the society painstakingly embroidered by student Marie Louise Bajada.

Works in beading, cottage craft, Malta lace, glass painting, and parchment craft, soft furnishing work, needle handcrafts and tailoring can also be seen. Bridal bouquets made by students will be on display as well as woodcarving, stone sculptures, papier-mâché and cribs made by students.

Art students will also be exhibiting works painted in various media. Various arts and crafts by the younger students of the society will also be on display.

The exhibition will be open between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 4.30 and 7 p.m. on weekdays and between 9.30 and 11.30 a.m. on Saturdays. Entrance is free.
