The Commonwealth Resounds! on the Thursday will be a spectacular multicultural event that will bring together outstanding musicians from different cultural traditions across the Commonwealth.
On the Saturday, A Gala Concert For CHOGM will bring together some of the most exciting talents from Australia, Canada, Malta, Nigeria and South Africa who have been supported in recent years by the Royal Overseas League through its Annual Music Competition and Commonwealth Music Scholarships.
This showcase concert programme includes music by Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Liszt, Fitkin and Gershwin performed by prize-winners Glen Inanga and Jennifer Micallef (piano duo from Malta and Nigeria); Joyce Maholoagae (soprano) from South Africa; Amy Dickson (saxophone) from Australia, and Andrew Aarons (piano) from Canada.
Over the past 50 years, the Royal Overseas League has established itself as the pre-eminent Commonwealth organisation supporting young classical musicians.
