Women students in engineering or computer science from the University of Malta recently joined others from universities in the UK, Italy, Sweden, Poland, Hungary and Estonia for a week-long training programme on creativity and female leadership hosted by the University of Bologna.
The training was part of an EU-sponsored project entitled 'Female engineers pushing innovation in companies (Fepic)', being co-ordinated by the University of Malta and the University of Bologna. It involves 20 universities and other organisations, and is aimed at encouraging female engineering and science students to improve their creativity, entrepreneurship and leadership skills.
During the two-year project, students are interviewing women with an engineering background in leadership positions in their respective countries and the University's Edward de Bono Institute is setting up an e-learning tool focused on developing creativity.
