Or to be more precise, Onvol Cable Internet. Having recently switched ISPs to Onvol I experienced a problem right from the onset. The problem was one of greatly reduced internet connection speed.
This problem persisted for a total period of 11 days, during which time I became somewhat concerned, if not a little angry at the seemingly incurable gremlin in the works. At times I seriously considered dumping my computer in the nearest skip. Fortunately Xaghra does not have a skip so I still have my computer.
During those 11 days of absolute frustration, never once did the Onvol staff concede defeat and call it a day in their attempt to isolate and remedy the problem. Even my numerous verbal vituperations over the telephone to reception staff and the tech support team failed to dampen their efforts towards solving my problem.
Both Gina and Elizabeth on reception deserve a special mention for their polite and understanding approach to the (angry) customer. So too does Gozo's very own Melita Cable lineman Sam, whose tenacity would be a credit to any company.
So there you have it. By all means name and shame, but in cases as highlighted here, do give credit where credit is due.
