Crimsonwing hosted members of the IEEE Malta Student Branch (IEEEsb) from the University of Malta at its Marsa premises earlier this month.

The IEEEsb committee members, led by Clifford De Raffaele and Stefania Cristina, who are reading Information and Communication Technology and Engineering, were given a presentation outlining the Malta solutions centre's operations by the Crimsonwing management team. Various job opportunities offered by the company in all aspects of ICT were highlighted.

The award-winning IT business solutions company boasts a team of 150 specialists, most of whom are University of Malta graduates. The management team encouraged the attendees to consider a career in IT.

Crimsonwing managing director James Bonello highlighted the significance of the ICT and Engineering graduates being recruited from the University for their IT project requirements, saying that their versatility in catering for the ever-changing technical and business client demands is critical for the successful operation of the firm.

The management team accentuated the importance of soft skills and language skills in their ICT specialists, which are often required to liaise directly with foreign customers working with blue chip organisations. The IEEEsb is part of the global Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and strives to bridge the gap between industry and university students. This organisation boasts popularity from the student body through its regular industrial visits related to the fields of study, academic public lectures as well as an annual Student Professional Awareness Conference.
