A young man from Marsascala is in critical condition in hospital after he was involved in a traffic accident in Wied il-Ghajn Road, Marsascala on Wednesday night.

The police said it appeared that the man, aged 19, was driving a Fiat 127 when the car hit a rubble wall, overturned and came to rest on its top.

The police said the driver, and another young man who was a passenger in the Fiat, were taken to hospital, where the driver was found to be in danger of dying. The passenger escaped with slight bruises.

Zabbar district police are investigating the accident.
