A critically wounded man drove himself all the way from Cirkewwa to Mater Dei Hospital last night after being stabbed several times. The police said his condition is life threatening.

The man, 28, was in a car with a 24-year-old woman when they were attacked by two men at about 2 a.m.

The woman was hospitalized some time later but her injuries are not serious.

The men suspected of having attacked them, a 63-year-old from Rabat and a 25-year-old from Dingli, were arrested on the spot and are being questioned.

Magistrate J.Padovani is holding an inquiry.
