Croatia proved too strong for Malta yesterday, beating them 3-0 in a Group Five match from the sixth UEFA Women's Championship qualifying campaign. After losing 1-0 away to Bosnia Herzegovina last Wednesday, Malta's fighting display was not enough to earn them a positive result against the Croatians at the NK Vrbovec Stadium.

Croatia, who were leading Malta 1-0 by the end of the first half, have now seized top spot in Group Five with seven points from three matches.

Malta, who had suffered an identical 3-0 away defeat to Romania in their first international match last month, will make their first home appearance on October 22 when facing Ireland.
