Reaching his first ever European cup final won't, after all, make CSKA Moscow coach Valery Gazzayev sacrifice his beloved moustache.
When CSKA ended up in the UEFA Cup as a consolation for finishing third in their Champions League first-round group last December, Gazzayev promised Moscow fans he would shave off his bushy moustache if the army club reached the final.
But after his team crushed Italy's Parma 3-0 in Thursday's UEFA Cup semi-final Gazzayev said: "I have received numerous messages from our fans in the last few days, urging me to keep my moustache and bring the cup home to Moscow instead."
