Publikazzjonijiet Indipendenza (PIN) has issued three more books in its series of 60 hard-bound volumes Kullana Kulturali, dealing with cultural aspects of Maltese life.

The three books are It-Tejatru f'Malta by Mario Azzopardi, Il-Flora Maltija by Edwin and Guido Lanfranco and Il-Festi Taghna by Charles Coleiro.

This series builds up into an encyclopaedia of Maltese culture, a task that involves leading 20th century authors, scholars and professionals, all experts in their field.

The 60 volumes of the Kullana Kulturali will be published over a five-year period with three volumes being issued every three months.

It-Tejatru f'Malta gives a panoramic view of the development of theatre in Malta with the people involved and their experiences, giving evidence of a people determined to have their own form of culture. It provides another detail in the cultural picture of human development on the Maltese islands and shows that Malta has participated in various significant events in the Mediterranean region.

Il-Flora Maltija gives all the necessary information about Maltese flora. The book offers a scientific classification, description and characteristics of the flora on the Maltese islands.

Il-Festi Taghna is a sociological description and an expert explanation of the way the Maltese celebrate their patron saints' feasts. The pictures that emerge from these descriptions are discussed and analysed in their own perspectives.
