Culture and tradition at Villa Rundle Gardens

Event promoted sustainability and seasonal food

St Francis school of Victoria organised a special event at Villa Rundle Gardens.

Titled ‘Agri Meets Culture’, the educational event promoted sustainability, seasonal food, Maltese culture and the importance of agriculture in everyday life. Through traditional crafts, folk music, folk dance, farming activities and eco-friendly initiatives, students had the opportunity to appreciate local traditions, while encouraging less plastic use and a more sustainable future.

Victoria mayor Brian Azzopardi said the event was a wonderful experience for the children attending the Victoria school, as well as for children from various other schools.

“I was truly impressed by the excellent organisation, dedication and engaging activities prepared by the school throughout this cultural and educational event”, he said. “A sincere well done to everyone who contributed to making ‘Agri Meets Culture’ such a beautiful and memorable success.”

Azzopardi said we remain committed, as a council, to continue supporting and helping initiatives like these that strengthen education, culture and our community.
