This year's Malta Jazz Festival came to an end yesterday with a selection of music by the Greg Osby Group, Dino Saluzzi and Rosa Passos.
Mr Osby presented numerous musical essays set to a contemporary score using the improvisational nature of jazz while Mr Saluzzi added a dose of folk to his jazz.
Ms Passos, known by many as the female equivalent of Joao Gilberto, closed the show. The festival, in its 15th edition, kicked off on Friday and included a range of South American music, jazz improvisations, tango and bossa nova.
Artistes on Friday and Saturday included the Joe Debono trio, John Zorn Acoustic Masada, the Richard Galliano New York Trio, Cama de Gato, the Saxo Four featuring Maria Joao and the Brian Blade Fellowship Sextet.
As in previous years, the festival was held at Ta' Liesse in Valletta.
