Two Solaris Valletta low floor buses have been driven to Malta from Poland.

The buses, which were driven here via Germany, Austria and Italy, were built specifically for Malta by Solaris Bus & Coach Sp. Z.o.o. of Poland, whose agents in Malta are the Exalco Group of Companies.

The Solaris product range includes the Urbino City Bus, the Trollino Trolley bus and the luxurious Vacanza tourist coaches found all over Europe.

Solaris buses conform to European specifications.

The low-floor buses being produced for Malta have been given a logo representing Malta's national bird Il-Merill.

The buses were launched over the weekend at Le Meridien Phoenicia, in Floriana in the presence of Transport Minister Censu Galea, members of the Public Transport Association and the Public Transport Directorate together with bus owners and key personnel from Solaris Bus & Coach Co.

Exalco Group managing director Alex Montanaro said a special price was being offered for orders placed before the end of the year.
