LivingWell Health Club at Hilton Malta exceeded expectations during a recent charity event, raising over Lm1,100 in aid of Dar Il-Kaptan and Fejda.
LivingWell Malta participated in the 24-hour global 'spinathon', during which spinning enthusiasts from LivingWell clubs worldwide took part in a 12-hour cycle in the name of charity.
Spinning is a popular indoor stationary cycling programme. It is carried out on bicycles to music.
To ensure that the challenge was truly a 24-hour global event, LivingWell teams in Australia started the challenge followed by LivingWell Malta, with the UK clubs finishing the pedalling action. They collectively cycled the equivalent of twice around the world - almost 81,000 miles.
Over 100 participants, including local personalities, sweated it out in the Malta marathon, taking it in turns to cycle for 12 hours.
