A cyclist was injured on the Coast Road on Thursday when he crashed into a stationary car.

The police said the accident happened at about 10.30am when the cyclist, a 62-year-old Briton, crashed into a Chevrolet Lacetti which had stopped on the side of the road after developing a fault.

The police said the cyclist's injuries were serious.

A magisterial inquiry is under way.
