The Life Cycle Challenge this year will see cyclists pedalling from Paris to Madrid in nine days from August 31 to September 9.

The challenge is an annual fund-raising activity for Life Cycle, a philanthropic organisation whose main aims are to raise awareness of Malta's Organ Transplant Support Group and the needs for renal patients in Malta and to buy equipment to be used to help Maltese people with kidney disease.

Applications are now being received from cyclists wishing to take part.

This year's challenge, the sixth since the organisation's foundation in 1999, will take cyclists and the back-up crew on a route of approximately 1,700 kms.

Applications can be collected from St Aloysius Gym in Birkirkara or from www.lifecyclechallenge.com.

Applications, accompanied by two passport-sized photos, should be handed in at the St Aloysius Gym by April 25.

An induction meeting for the cyclists will be held on April 29.
