The winner of the word game, which starts today, will be visiting Cyprus, island of the gods.

Emirates is offering readers of The Times the chance to win two economy-class return tickets to Cyprus and five nights' accommodation in a twin room on bed and breakfast basis in a four-star hotel.

Steeped in history, Cyprus is rich in archaeological treas-ures and there are many quiet villages, monasteries, quaint restaurant-lined harbours and resorts basking in an average of 300 days of sunshine each year. The island is dominated by the 2,000-metre high Troodos Mountains, whose pine and oak covered slopes are often swathed in snow during winter. To the north, the mountains sweep steeply down to the sea. In contrast, southwards they descend gently towards Lemesos and the coast.

Emirates operates a daily flight from Malta to Cyprus and onward to Dubai.

The prize has to be used by March 31 and does not include taxes and transfers.

The winning words for the previous word game, which sees the winner visiting Livigno in mid-March, were semicolon, shakedown, framework, bilateral, safeguard and corkscrew.
