A Russian man was yesterday conditionally discharged for six months for damaging a police car when he was drunk.

German-born Sergei Palamarchouk, 46, pleaded guilty to causing less than Lm50 damage to the car, being drunk and disorderly and breaching the peace in Bugibba on July 30 at about 5.15 a.m.

In handing down judgment, Magistrate Giovanni Grixti noted that Palamarchouk had paid for the damage.

Police Inspector Joseph Mercieca prosecuted.
