Keith Jones, president of the National Association of Teachers of Dancing in the UK and vice-president of the British Dance Council, was recently in Malta to examine students of the Msida Dance Centre.
In the professional teacher examinations, Carla Schembri was highly commended in her Associate Disco, Freestyle exam. Mario and Josephine Buttigieg, presented by their tutor Stephen Kidd, principal of the Msida Dance Centre, obtained membership level in ballroom dancing.
Mr Jones has travelled widely, lecturing, adjudicating contests and examining students. In the past year, he has visited Japan, Hong Kong, Beijing, Dubai, America, Singapore and the US.
Mr Jones described dancing as a healthy exercise and a social asset.
"Always ensure you are taught by a qualified teacher. After all, you would not ask a dentist to perform a heart bypass," he said.
