Last week I took advantage of some nice weather and decided to go for a short ride around the empty roads; however, I could not believe the state of our roads and this made me write this letter.

The patchwork that was done some time ago along the Coast Road is very dangerous, especially for people driving on two wheels. The patchwork was not levelled with the surface of the road, ending up in a series of bumps. An inexperienced or unaware driver can easily lose control of his vehicle on this part of the road.

Another stretch of road in this area is St George's Road in St Julian's (driving the way down to Spinola). I have seen various letters published on this part of the road, but it seems that all complaints fall on deaf ears. Driving a motorcycle in this road is a real boneshaker apart from the fact that it can be very dangerous.

One cannot understand how two main roads like these, which are used every day by thousands of motorists and passengers, are left in this state.
