A little bit of folk, a little bit of blues and more than a dash of Americana… these are all elements present in the countrified sound of Martin McNeil and The Dissidents.
With two low-key singles under their belt and the occasional public jam session (so far), the band has been attracting attention slowly but surely around the island.
Its profile, however, is set to receive a significant boost this Saturday, when McNeil and his band of merry men (and one lady) play their much-anticipated debut gig at the Coach and Horses, Msida.
Featuring Jimmy ‘Deadman’ Bartolo, Alex Alden, Benji Cachia and Anthony Saliba alongside Martin McNeil, the band will perform songs from their upcoming album, which is currently being recorded in Sicily and Detroit by acclaimed producer Mark McRae. Doors open at 9 p.m. and entrance is free.
