Decorated drinking glasses recalled over health risks

Consumers urged not to use products due to toxic metal levels

A number of decorated drinking glasses have been recalled due to health risks.

The Food Safety and Security Authority said on Friday that glasses bearing different designs including orange prints, small hearts and strawberries, sold in the past two years “must not be used due to migration of high levels of lead and cadmium when in contact with food”.

High levels of these metals which exceed safe limits “pose an unacceptable risk” to consumer health, the authority added.

The recall affects the following 220ml capacity drinking glasses:

  • Pumpkin print glass: Product code 3057450. All batches sold since August 2024
  • Oranges print glass: Product code 3062993. All batches sold since May 2025
  • Small red hearts glass: Product code 3052986. All batches sold since January 2024
  • Strawberry print glass: Product code 3053912. All batches sold since February 2024
  • Yellow lemons print glass: Product code 3055350. All batches sold since May 2024

The authority urged consumers not to use these products.
